Understand the situation.
See the tone, relationship, cultural context, and what is really being said.
Koto helps English and Japanese speakers understand the context behind a phrase, find words that still sound like themselves, and learn from real conversations.
The words are only
part of the meaning.

01 / What Koto does
Meaning changes with the moment, the relationship, and what you hope will happen next.
See the tone, relationship, cultural context, and what is really being said.
Shape a message that carries your intent without flattening your personality.
Move the conversation forward with words that fit both the person and the moment.
A real Koto conversation

02 / How it stays with you
Koto connects the moment you needed a phrase with the context that made it matter—so it can return when it is useful again.
Save with context
Save useful language with the situation, your own notes, and the nuance you do not want to forget.

Return when it matters
Bring useful language back into view without streaks, leaderboards, or artificial urgency.

03 / Two directions
Koto is designed around the different questions English and Japanese speakers bring to one another—not a single interface with the labels swapped.
Turn your thought into natural, context-aware Japanese while keeping your own voice.

Understand intent and nuance, then find clear, natural English that keeps the original meaning.

04 / Built with care
A calmer way to understand, express yourself, and keep learning from real life.
Language can carry more than one meaning. Koto helps you examine the situation instead of pretending there is always one perfect answer.
Suggestions adapt to your purpose and relationship, so the final words can still sound like you.
Come back because a phrase matters—not because an app is counting the days.
Koto is an English–Japanese communication and learning companion. It helps with context, tone, expression, replies, and remembering language from real situations.
Not publicly. Koto is currently being tested through a private TestFlight beta, so access is invitation-only and features may change between builds.
Saved expressions, notes, existing chats, Kana, review, and other local learning can remain available on your device. New AI replies and cloud voice features require an eligible online connection and permission.
No. Language is personal and situational, and AI can make mistakes. Koto is designed to help you think through an expression—not make important decisions for you.
Current availability
The app is still being tested and refined. Support information explains what is available now and how invited testers can report an issue.
